Ghost- and Co-Writing
Ghost- and co-writing are extremely common arrangements for prospective authors who have a great story to tell, but maybe not the time or writing experience to truly make it sing. A co-writer receives a byline in the book for the writing and subject matter expertise they provide, while a ghostwriter acts as a silent collaborator to hone your book idea into the manuscript you’ve always dreamed of.
The most important part of working with anyone on a book is chemistry, so all my writing agreements begin with a free consultation to make sure we’re a good fit, and that you feel comfortable entrusting me with capturing your unique voice and story. If we decide to move forward, next steps include creating a book outline and discussing audience and tone for your book, followed by intimate conversations that will become the meat of your story. After the interview phase, I begin drafting the book, with regular check-ins with you on progress, additional questions about missing information, and eventually, review and revision.
This is a long-term, comprehensive relationship and the most valuable investment you can make in yourself and the story you want to tell. Rates vary depending on project timeline and length; contact me to figure out if a ghost- or co-writing arrangement is the right fit for you.
Manuscript Editing and Review
If your manuscript is already completed or well underway, a practiced, discerning editor can offer invaluable advice on your book’s overarching structure and plot, sentence and narrative flow, vocabulary and diction, and more. My decade-plus of publishing experience can help you position your book in the marketplace and make your manuscript the strongest it can be. Author Coaching
Sometimes a writer isn’t ready for a comprehensive edit or partnering with a co-author, but needs someone to hold them accountable, provide valuable industry advice, and give in-the-moment input on manuscript development. Much like checking in with a personal fitness coach, an experienced author coach can work with you to set goals, provide feedback on progress, and even help you navigate the complicated publishing progress when you’re ready for that next step.
